Artist's Description

This beauty looks like a womb of soft white large petals folded over a red bulb.

Magnolia is a large genus of about 210[a] flowering plant species in the subfamily Magnolioideae of the family Magnoliaceae. It is named after French botanist Pierre Magnol.

Magnolia is an ancient genus. Appearing before bees did, the flowers are theorized to have evolved to encourage pollination by beetles.[1] To avoid damage from pollinating beetles, the carpels of Magnolia flowers are extremely tough.[2] Fossilized specimens of M. acuminata have been found dating to 20 million years ago, and of plants identifiably belonging to the Magnoliaceae date to 95 million years ago.[3] Another aspect of Magnolia considered to represent an ancestral state is that the flower bud is enclosed in a bract rather than in sepals; the perianth parts are undifferentiated and called tepals rather than distinct sepals and petals.

About Emma Carter Brooks

Emma Carter Brooks

Welcome! I'm Emma Carter Brooks, I'm very passionate about my Art and I love what I do. I wish that everyone could see what I see. My business name is " Art I AM Designs". Why? Because every "Nature" image I have captured, I believe it was created by God, not me. Therefore, I have to glorify Him. I love doing photography and I love the beauty of our Earth. Our Creator, has given us a magnificent and beautiful planet. In 2020, I began to create abstract and optical illusion artwork. I found it to be fabulous and unique! Love it! Photography became my passion when I was going through a debilitating illness, depression and several losses. In 2007 I picked up my camera one day and started walking through the neighborhood looking...
